Hurtigruten invites you to join one of our unique Cultural Voyages to experience Norwegian culture at its finest. Throughout April and May, 2016, the festivities you will experience during this voyage are inspired by Norway’s national hero, composer Edvard Grieg.

Hurtigruten is delighted to offer you enriching voyages with a piano concert at Troldhaugen, Grieg’s home in the city of Bergen. A guided tour of the composer’s villa is also included.

While sailing along the coast you may take part in exciting cultural activities, both on board the ship and onshore. Some of our concerts will be set in unusual localities and surroundings. For example, opera arias will be performed in an industrial mining grotto up in the mountains. Possibly the most spectacular performance will be a concert held in an old fish-oil factory tank.

You will also visit fascinating churches, including the beautiful stone-built church in AĚŠlesund, built 1909. In Tromsø, the gateway to the Arctic, you are welcome to enjoy a midnight concert in one of the city’s famous landmarks - the Arctic Cathedral.

Among the many concert halls and cultural centers along the coast, you will visit the recently-built Stormen buildings in Bodø. The concert hall was opened the fall of 2014 and has been labeled “outstanding” by Nordic design institutions for its cultural and architectural features. It is well known among the public and musicians for its special and wonderful acoustics.
